TYPE – MICROBIOCIDE-OXIDIZING
CHLORINE DIOXIDE is a multifunctional oxidizing biocide blend to inhibit the proliferation of micro-organisms inclusive of algae and fungi in process cooling systems, process pipework and vessels. It is usually prepared on site from MBO-CDM-1 & MBO-CDM-2 respectively by careful procedure that must be unquestionably followed. The MBO-CDM-1 & MBO-CDM-2 are reactive powders used to form a 0.2% chlorine dioxide solution. (i.e 2000ppm minimum – 6000ppm maximum depending upon prevailing environmental conditions).

For fouled cooling systems, the CHLORINE DIOXIDE SOLUTION should be slug dosed at 150 -250 mg/l into the system water based on volume and for the best results, the frequency should be based upon the Holding Time Index/Half-Life.
Continuous dosing with a proportional dosing pump can be used for where applicable.
A test method is available for testing the product residual, however, it is recommended that aerobic and anaerobic bacterial tests be conducted on a weekly basis to determine product efficacy.
The INDIVUDUAL 5kg Packs can be stored for up to 6 months from the date of preparation, in its original, sealed packaging, at room temperature in a dry area. Containers must be kept sealed and undercover and out of direct sunlight. This prepared product can be safely stored in plastic type holding tanks designed to manage the specific gravity listed. The final chlorine dioxide mix must be protected from heat. Protective clothing such as gloves and goggles should be worn when handling the final mix.
