ALGAE-STAT 5

ALGAESTAT-5 dosage should be handled cautiously to control algal blooms and dosed so as not to exceed a 2mg/l copper residual in the final water in accordance with SANS 241:2015 specification. The objective is to minimize algal blooms in the feed water prior to coagulation.

Recommended dosage of the ALGAESTAT-5 is between 10mg/l to 25mg/l. This will result in a copper content between 0.1mg/l to 0.3 mg/l which will prove effective in controlling algae without being detrimental to the environment. It is important that the incoming water pH does not exceed 8.5 for maximum efficiency.

ALGAESTAT-5 can be stored for up to 24 months from the date of manufacture, in its original, sealed packaging, at room temperature in a dry area. Containers of ALGAESTAT-5 must be kept undercover and out of direct sunlight. This product can be safely stored in plastic type holding tanks designed to manage the specific gravity listed. ALGAESTAT-5 must be protected from freezing and excessive aeration. Protective clothing such as gloves and goggles should be worn when handling.
