BCI-L35C

CONCENTRATED CORROSION INHIBITOR & REVERSE OSMOSIS TREATMENT

BCI-L35C is a concentrated bisulphite based oxygen scavenger for use in steam generating systems. The product is mildly acidic and is used in medium pressure steam generation systems for corrosion control. BCI-L35C is also used as an effective shock treatment in reverse osmosis systems during normal plant operation. Colloidal foul against aerobic bacterial types.

    Appearance : Pale Yellow Liquid
    pH neat soln. at 25oC : 3.0-5.0
    Specific Gravity at 25oC : 1.25-1.30

BCI-L35C is nominally controlled at between 20-30mg/l in the boiler as the sodium sulphite compound in the boiler circuit water. These dosages should be altered dependent upon dissolved oxygen content in the feed water.

    mg/l BCI-L35C to boiler feed water = 5 x [ (Oxygen in Feed Water x 8) + (Residual Required/Effective Cycles of Concentration.)]

There is a specific test method for the determination of the residual BCIL35C. This is a titrimetric method and is immediately available.

REVERSE OSMOSIS DISINFECTION AND BIOCIDE SHOCK TREATMENT

Concentrations of between 40-60mg/l in feed streams have proven effective in controlling microbiological fouling.

BCI-L35C can be stored for up to 24 months from the date of manufacture, in its original, sealed packaging, at room temperature in a dry area. This product can be safely stored in plastic type holding tanks designed to manage the specific gravity listed, however in open vessels concentration will be affected over time. BCI-L35C must be protected from freezing and excessive aeration. Protective clothing such as gloves and goggles should be worn when handling BCI-L35C.
