Boiler Water

BIT-L-PHOS liquid

TYPE : BOILER INTERNAL TREATMENT and PROCESS POLYPHOSPHATE PROGRAMME

BIT-L-PHOS is an overall poly-phosphorous compound specifically designed for the systematic control and removal of hardness deposits and metallic contaminants in utility and process water containing systems.

Dosage is directly proportional to specific contaminants and direct test methods are available for ideal control of the product.

Appearance: Clear Water White to Pale Yellow/Green Opaque Liquid
    Total Activity: 100ppm BIT-L-PHOS = 20-25 ppm expressed as PO4 (phosphate).
    pH neat soln. at 25oC : 5.0-7.0
    Specific Gravity at 25oC : 1.18-1.22

BIT-L-PHOS is nominally controlled at between 30-60 mg/l expressed as phosphate in the boiler blowdown water. These dosages should be altered dependent upon feed water conditions; Eg. High Calcium Hardness and/or Metallic Salts such as Fe; etc.

    mg/l BIT-L-Phos dosage to boiler feedwater = [5.45( mg/l total hardness + mg/l total iron in feedwater)] + (PO4 residual reqd./cycles concentration)

There is a specific test method for the determination of the residual BIT-L-PHOS.

This is a colorimetric method and is immediately available.

BIT-L-PHOS can be stored for up to 24 months from the date of manufacture, in its original, sealed packaging, at room temperature in a dry area. Drums of BITS-PHOS must be kept undercover and out of direct sunlight. This product can be safely stored in plastic type holding tanks designed to manage the specific gravity listed. BIT-L-PHOS must be protected from freezing. Protective clothing such as gloves and goggles should be worn when handling BIT-L-PHOS.
